Women's Specific Coaching

Women's Specific Courses

Want a whitewater kayak coaching get-away with a like-minded group? No stress, no conflicting agendas, just great paddling days and personalised input from highly skilled coaches. This is what we offer in the Over 50's Whitewater Skills Club.

In this course, Paddle365 coaches will work with you to help you adapt your kayaking style to one that gets you better and more predictable results on rapids for less effort!

Our specialised approach to coaching will help you gain real understanding of whitewater kayaking, reinforce fundamentals and iron out bad habits. We'll also talk techniques to keep the psychological devil at bay whilst fostering in you a growth mindset that will have you improving and loving life on the river in future.

Who is this trip for, and what's it about anyway?

Whether you're a relative novice in moving water paddling or a seasoned veteran with a few cobwebs to brush off, this could be the course for you.  Participants come with a variety of backgrounds in the sport, but all are there to improve their whitewater knowledge and skills so that they can really enjoy their time out adventuring in their kayak. This will be based on class 2/3 whitewater and coaching sessions are tailored to the individuals on the course.

Participants should have already had their Introduction to whitewater kayaking and so be prepared to get straight onto moving water. A working roll would be a big advantage, but is not essential to participation. We will work with the pace of the group to ensure everyone is able to get the most out of their time with Paddle365, and not burn out after each session.  That said, this course does involve physical effort and so emphasis is placed in the hands of participants to ensure they are physically capable of paddling and helping with short portages carrying kayaks.

You will get 3 days out on the water with low instructor-student ratios, and 3 nights in comfortable group accommodation.

Jamie is a perceptive, enthusiastic coach who brings warmth, humour and positivity into his innovative coaching. Never once did I feel like "a client passing through" but rather I came away believing, and being determined, to be a better paddler. Jamie's coaching improved the physical aspects of my paddling, but more amazingly, he was able to reach the psychological blocks which limit my paddling. This all sounds very serious, when, in fact, the psychological shifts probably happened in the numerous occasions I was either smiling or laughing. Barbara - 5*
