About the Course
Join us for an unforgettable steep creeking adventure in Veracruz, Mexico – one of the world’s top destinations for whitewater kayaking. This 13-day guided trip offers access to the legendary Alseseca, Filo-Boboos and Jalacingo rivers, boasting multiple sections with stunning gorges, a variety of fun rapids, and waterfalls of all shapes and sizes.
For this course Paddle365 will be joined by other experienced coaches and guides from Adventurec, who are experts in the whitewater of the area. You'll develop your skills on technical slides and iconic drops – all while surrounded by lush jungle, warm weather, and epic scenery. With accommodation included, hearty meals, and rest days to relax, explore, or recover, this is the ultimate kayaking escape.
Whether you're looking to dial in your waterfall game, explore world-class whitewater, or just paddle hard and live well, this trip offers the perfect balance of progression, challenge, and fun.
Cost
Course cost is roughly £1700, calculated based on payment of £500GBP in deposit in the UK, followed by $28,500 Mexican Pesos to complete. The value of the total in GBP may vary based on currency fluctuations.

Example Itinerary
Here is an example itinerary from our trip partners at Aventurec. They've stressed that it can and will be adapted when we arrive based on the water levels along with the groups needs and aspirations.
DAY 1
Arrive at Airport Mexico city
Travel to Aventurec (4.5 hour drive), We will pick up from the airport.
Get settled into accommodation before dinner and discussing the plan for the trip
and the next day.
Day 2
Kayak Encanto-Palmilla
After breakfast we’ll organise any boat rentals and outfitting before getting on the
shuttle bus for Encanto-Palmilla, A class III boulder garden section starting with a
paddle back up a steep gorge to see the beautiful Encanto waterfall. We’ll shake
off the mid-winter cobwebs with an opportunity to warm up on some easier white
water, get to know your coaches, get used to the new kit and discuss trip rescue
techniques.
DAY 3
Kayak Roadside/Tablazo
The headwaters of the world famous Alseseca River, class IV low volume steep slides and waterfalls allow for a great fun day to be coached down our first dive into Mexican style creeking. With opportunities to Lap some drops and work on
critical stroke timing.
Day 4
Kayak Lower Jalacingo
The first big mission of the trip, clean boof heaven! Enjoy the stunning hike into a beautiful jungle gorge full of great boofs and flowy rapids! The perfect next step from Roadside.
DAY 5
Rest Day
After the travel and 3 days of paddling take a slower morning to reflect and recover. Book a massage with our in-house masseur, visit the ancient Mayan pyramids, or just relax by the pool.
Day 6
Kayak Truchitas
A 25ft Waterfall on the Jalacingo River. Learn and develop waterfall running skills during a Park and huck day at Truchitas. This gives a perfect opportunity to get used to running waterfalls, working on that entry angle and tuck! Run the drop as many times as you like to improve and get comfortable on this lower volume friendly waterfall.
Day 7
Kayak Big Banana - Second Gorge
The Second Big mission! Walk into the famous Silencio waterfall, we’ll put on below and kayak the next stunning section of drops and rapids. All the larger rapids can be portaged, some of which will be mandatory. We’ll take out at Tomata bridge and celebrate with a cerveza!
Day 8
Kayak Alto Filo
After a few days of excitement we can back off a little with this beautiful class II-III run in an unrivaled setting. Winding through the steep walled gorges and jungles of Veracruz. Hike-in (25-minutes through jungle paths), with the option of a porter to carry your boat, and enjoy the rapids and scenery and rapids below.
DAY 9
Rest Day
Take another day to relax, enjoy the Zip line at Aventurec, or take a trip out to see the famous waterfalls of Tomata 1 & 2. Visit a local restaurant for dinner, reflect on the week so far and discuss the options for the final few days kayaking.
DAY 10
Kayak Big Bannana - First Gorge
Walk in to the spectacular Big Bannana water fall, put on in the pool below and kayak the stunning first gorge as it winds through the jungle, great class 2, 3 and 4 action... including Mexican 20 and Mordor, two must run class 4+ drops. Take out
at Silencio and walk back up to the shuttle bus.
Day 11
Kayak Group choice
Coaches and clients get together to discus the plan for the final few days, repeating runs is a great way to work on styling rapids and gives a better appreciation for the runs. Roadside, lower Jalacingo, or putting together a longer section of Big Banana are all popular choices.
Day 12
Kayak Group choice
Decide as a group which river you’d like to be your final run of the trip. Alternatively the travel to our historical Hacienda in Apan (Just over an hour from
the airport). Enjoy the comfort of our Mexican ranch, go on a horse back ride and relax for your final day.
DAY 13
Travel to Mexico City
Pack up and say goodbye to your coaches and the Aventurec team, travel to the airport and begin your journey home. Look at the amazing phots from your trip, and get ready to tell your friends the stories and adventures from your tip!
What level of paddler is this aimed at?
Designed for confident class 3+/4 paddlers. You should have a good amount of experience of class 4 rivers and rapids under your belt, and be confident in your ability to roll in challenging white water. You don't need to be completely all over it (that's what we're there for!), but you should be keen to test and develop your existing grade 3/4 creeking skills in this new destination.

Bio:

Joe has been passionate about kayaking & paddlesports for the majority of his life, starting off on the River Dee and now paddling wherever and whenever he get's the opportunity, whether that's creeking, playboating or whitewater SUP.
Joe has a depth of experience kayaking in the UK and around the world. He runs courses as well as day to day operations in Paddle365 and Paddle the Dee.
